A wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, Charlotte was well-known for and enjoyed making pies. She enjoyed crocheting, taking walks, snowmobiling and two-tracking, yet enjoyed reading, especially reading her Bible and spending quiet time there. For many years Charlotte taught children’s Sunday School and she was a member of Zion Baptist Church. Charlotte also worked on elections for Acme Township for many years.

Charolotte is survived by her children, Todd Wright of Acme, Norman (Patricia) Wright of Traverse City, Brenda Wright of Acme and Shana Hawkins of Traverse City. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Neil Ferguson, Joshua and Jeffrey Hawkins, Katie and Ryan Hawkins; and her great-grandchildren, Haylie and Christina Chambers and Nathan Underwood.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Edwin, William, Leonard and Charles Whiteford; and her sisters, LaDore Ray-Kube and Joyce Lardie.

Visitation for Charlotte will take place today, Dec. 11, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, at Zion Baptist Church, 6563 E. Harry’s Road, Traverse City, with Pastor William Smith officiating. Burial will be in Acme Township Cemetery in the spring.

Charlotte had asked that memorial contributions in her memory be directed to Zion Baptist Church.
