Ralph E. Williams

SAGINAW — Mr. Ralph E. Williams, 84, of Saginaw, passed away Friday, June 7, 2013, at Bay Ridge Assisted Living Center in Traverse City. Ralph was born on Oct. 16, 1928, in Oak Park, Ill., to the late Guy S. and Julia E. (Mueller) Williams.

While serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, he married Ethel Mae Schluckebier on July 7, 1951, in Richville. She predeceased him on Nov. 25, 2009.

Ralph was graduated from Michigan State University.

He was employed at Magline in Pinconning for 22 years, retiring as export sales manager.

He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, American Legion Post #400 - Richville (Past Post Commander), past member of the Germania Town & Country Club, Richville Volunteer Fire Department and Richville Lions Club (Charter Member).

Surviving are three children, Ann L. Berthold, of Eaton Rapids, James G. (Linda) Williams, of Traverse City, and Robert E. (Barbara) Williams, of Ft. Worth, Texas; grandchildren, Jennie Clark, of Munger, Katie (Kyle) Green, of Milwaukee, Wis., Mark Williams, of Aspen, Colo., Noah Williams and Leah Williams, of Ft. Worth, Texas; step-grandchild, Brittney (Jeremy) Burr, of Hemlock; and great-grandchildren, Ryan Clark, Conner, Alexandria, Rebekah and Timothy Berthold, Brody Burr and Taylor Green.

Ralph was predeceased by his sister, Helen Lindsay; and his son-in-law, Edward K. Berthold.

A funeral celebration will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at Peace Lutheran Church, 3427 Adams Ave., Saginaw. The Rev. Paul R. Hinz will officiate. Entombment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, with Military Honor Guard conducted under the auspices of VFW Post 1859 of Carrollton/Zilwaukee. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc., 1218 N. Michigan Ave., Saginaw, on Tuesday from 2 to 8 p.m., then at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Hospice of Michigan or Peace Lutheran Church.
