BATTLE CREEK — Shawn Timothy Hoban, 43, of Battle Creek, finally found peace on June 4, 2013. He was born Oct. 30, 1969, in Traverse City, and was the son of Timothy and Lise Hoban, who preceded him in death.
He married Emily Syc on Sept. 12, 1992, and together they brought into this world four beautiful children, Elizabeth (18), Christian (16), Michael (14) and Andrew (10). His family will miss their Dad greatly but know that they have a very special angel watching from above. He will always be loved.
Shawn is also survived by his identical twin brother, Patrick (Christy) Hoban, of Ypsilanti; and sisters, Chantal Defeo (Michael), of Newfields, N.H., and Michele Hoban (George Worthington), of Charleston, S.C. His siblings will remember all the great memories that they shared growing up “on the hill.”
Shawn graduated from Suttons Bay High School in 1988 and went on to earn a B.S. from Western Michigan University in 1992. He founded Worxsite, which was a company that provided occupational therapy services to different industries throughout lower Michigan.
A funeral Mass to celebrate Shawn’s life will take place Friday, June 14, at 4 p.m., at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Battle Creek.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to support the children’s future. Donations may be made to the Shawn Hoban Family Fund, PO Box 970101, Ypsilanti, MI 48197.
