BENZIE COUNTY — Ronald V. Skold, 85, died May 28, 2013, at Munson Medical Center, after an extended illness. He was born April 22, 1928, in Chicago.
He graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in chemical engineering.
He’s spent most of his working years in product liability and business management at Dow Chemical Company in Midland. After retiring from Dow he and his wife moved to their cottage on Platte Lake. For several years he owned and managed The Sport Shop of Beulah.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; three children, Craig (MaryAnn), Karin and Randy (Teri); Marilyn’s children, Bob (Cathy), Kathy and Cheryl (Paul); plus 17 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Ada Skold; his first wife, Sybil; and seven siblings.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 10, at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church of Beulah. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Memorials may be made to St. Andrews Presbyterian Church or a charity of one’s choice.
