ANN ARBOR — Marian Elizabeth “Liz” Gault Davis, age 85, of Ann Arbor, passed away on Saturday, July 27, at Arbor Hospice. She was born on April 22, 1928, in Ann Arbor, the daughter of James Sherman Gault and Wilma Smith Gault.
On Dec. 31, 1948, she married Rollin Allen Davis. He preceded her in death on Oct. 13, 2011.
Liz was employed at the University of Michigan for 37 years. She worked in a number of departments including the University Willow Run Labs, the Institute of Science and Technology and the office of the Vice-President for Research. She retired in May of 1989.
Liz and Rollin spent summers in Honor and winters at Citrus Ridge in Davenport, Fla.
Liz was a longtime member of the Ann Arbor Potter’s Guild and an avid traveler.
Surviving her are her sister, Madelaine Conboy, of Ann Arbor; nephews, Greg Conboy and Kevin Conboy; and nieces, Sharon Birks, Kathy Talley and Pam Mariutto.
A private burial will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
