TRAVERSE CITY — Frank Edward Blake Jr., 83, of Traverse City, passed away on Nov. 17, 2013. He was born on Jan. 8, 1930, the son of Frank Blake Sr. and Mabel Hall.
Frank married Lois Johnson in 1951; she passed away after 52 years of marriage. He married Mary Karmann in 2005.
Frank graduated from the University of Illinois with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
He worked as a civil engineer and construction manager for many years both in the United States and overseas for Morrison-Knudson, retiring in 1985.
In his free time Frank enjoyed woodworking and visiting with his friends.
Frank is survived by his wife, Mary Blake; children, Steven (Yolanda) Blake, Susan (Danny) Eaton and Alan (Zsuzsanna) Blake; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Lois.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 23, at 10 a.m., at St. Francis Catholic Church in Traverse City.
