---- — TRAVERSE CITY — Alice Jane Jacobson passed away peacefully with family by her side, Aug. 22, 2013.

Alice was born in Detroit, attended DePauw University and graduated from The University of Michigan, where she studied art.

She and her husband of 64 years, Robert D. Jacobson, spent a majority of their life in Colorado, traveling back to Frankfort and Traverse City.

Alice was very involved with running the Wilderness Trails Guest Ranch, a cattle ranch in Tiffaney, Colo., but was the most well known for teaching art at Miller Junior High School for 21 years.

Alice was well known in both Durango and Traverse City, by the beautiful water colors she painted.

Besides art and adventure, Alice was a member of PEO, AAUW, NeoDelphian, and the Presbyterian Church.

Alice enjoyed a “Blue Bird” day of skiing with family and friends, and a round of golf with the Presbyterian Putters.

Alice was preceded in passing by her sister Mary Lou, mother Ruth, father Karl and husband Bob. She is survived by son Eric; daughter-in-law Linda; daughter Julie, son-in-law Rob; grandsons Mike, Liam, and Justin; Mike’s wife Nicole; and her great granddaughters, Abbey and Lizzy. She is also survived by her extended family, Doug, Brenda and Amanda Kabbes.

“Mom”, you will be greatly missed, but only you could have painted such a beautiful picture of life.
