BEULAH — James “Jim” John Griffin, 68, of Beulah, left on us on a beautiful, sunny day, Wednesday, May 8, 2013, surrounded by his loving family and closest friends, to begin his journey to meet his beloved twin brother, Jack. We are sure they are together and Jack is showing him all the best hunting and fishing spots that Heaven has to offer.
Some people may think Jim had a gruff exterior but he was truly an honest, decent, gentle man with a heart of gold and a will of iron. He was determined to be at home with his beloved wife, Cindy, to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary, May 7. He achieved that goal as he had achieved every goal he set for himself. No matter the task, he always gave 100%.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Cindy; his daughter, Lisa Scott of Kailua, Hawaii and her husband Greg Scott; his son, James John Jr. of Derby, Kan.; and his grandchildren, Lauren Scott of Pullman, Wash., and Matthew Scott of Steamboat Springs, Colo.; his brothers, Robert (Catherine) Griffin of Traverse City, and William (Carol) Griffin of Shepherd; his nephew, Jack (Michele) of Flowery Branch, Ga.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by two adorable cats, Gracie and Sammi, which he adopted as kittens through AC Paw.
He was preceded in death by his dearly loved parents, RT Francis and Beth Griffin; and his beloved and sorely missed twin brother, Jack Francis Griffin. Now they will all be together again.
No funeral services are planned, however a Memorial Celebration will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations be made to AC Paw, Traverse City.
The Bennett-Barz Funeral Home, in Beulah, is in charge of arrangements; www.bennett-barzfuneralhome.com.
