BEULAH — Wilfred “Fred” H. Frixen, 86, of Beulah, passed away from a long illness Thursday, May 9, 2013, at Paul Oliver Memorial Hospital in Frankfort. He was born Oct. 31, 1926, in Garstedt, Germany, the eldest son of Karl and Emmy Frixen.
Fred served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Afterwards he worked as a house painter and real estate broker.
On Dec. 24, 1949, Fred married Shirley Marie Maine, who survives him. He is also survived by six children, Gary (Lynn) Frixen, of Holly, Marcus (Liz) Frixen, of Burton, Kelvin Frixen, of Swartz Creek, Susie Frixen, of Beulah, Heidi Frixen Hoedeman, of Maple City, and Michael Frixen, of Maple City; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and his brother, Ebehardt Frixen, of Empire.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Albertus Frixen.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial services will be held at a later date.
