Zora Armena Pelky

HONOR — Zora Armena Pelky, 65, of Honor, passed away on Sept. 27, 2012, at Munson Medical Center, with her husband and children by her side.

She was born in Frankfort on July 2, 1947, the daughter of Henry RC and Ida Ellen VanBrocklin. Zora married Franklin Pelky on Sept. 25, 1970, and happily celebrated 42 years of marriage.

She was a wonderful homemaker. Raising her children was always her pride and joy. She put a lot of love and care in her cooking and canning for the family.

Once her children were grown she worked at the Brookside and Sara Lee.

She was always on the go, taking walks, hunting for mushrooms, playing tennis and badminton with family and tending to her flower gardens. She loved her weekly trip to the casinos with family and friends. Many happy times were spent there.

Zora was considered by many to be their second mom. She was always happy, loving, kind, gentle and optimistic. She always found the good in all things. She was a good listener and very easy to talk to. She loved her children and grandchildren and had a special relationship with each one. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by husband, Frank; mother, Ida Mix; children, RJ, Zelda Gray, Raymond (Becky), Margie (Greg) Clous, Matt (Char), Lottie Belle and Dennis; grandchildren, Stephanie and Elizabeth Pelky, Thomas III and Zach Gray, Cory, Kyle and Chloe Pelky, Travis, Alisha and Myah Clous, Ashley Zeller, Noha, Katelynn and Maxx Pelky, and Mariah and Cody Pelky; brother, Hank (Claudia) Van Brocklin; sisters, Zelda Hodge, Janice Brown and Joan (Tim) Thomas; aunts and uncles; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Henry RC VanBrocklin; brothers, Robert and LaDon VanBrocklin; and nephew, RC VanBrocklin.

We will remember Zora Pelky as a lady who loved her family and one who had a true spirit of generosity.

Funeral services will be held today, Oct. 1, 2012, at 1 p.m., Trinity Lutheran Church, Frankfort, with Pastor Rick Stieve officiating.

Arrangements are by Jowett Family Funeral Homes and Cremations Service.
