Judy A. (Mulvihill) Jandreski

TRAVERSE CITY --- Judith "Judy" Ann Jandreski, 72, of Traverse City and formerly of Flushing, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012, after a very brief battle with cancer, at Munson Medical Center. Judy was born on June 10, 1940, to the late John "Pat" and Wanda (Hull) Mulvihill in Wyoming, Mich.

She was a graduate of Lee High School before entering Central Michigan University, where she met the love of her life. Entering into marriage on Feb. 9, 1963, she began a life together with Harold "Hal" Jandreski.

Together they established a home and the family quickly grew with the addition of four children. Judy was a wonderful mother, deeply caring for her kids and always putting them first. In her children's growing years she could always be found cheering from the bleachers or giving an encouraging word no matter the sport or event. Even those outside her own family would recognize and know the ever-supportive "Mrs. J".

Judy was extremely hard working; after raising a family, she put in long hours as a Realtor to provide the best for her clients. Her experience and knowledge allowed Judy to excel at her work and provided for a career spanning almost 30 years.

She had a passion for travel as well as antiques, educating herself on each piece and even getting her hands dirty putting in many hours restoring the latest find to an original beauty.

She was also an avid reader and enjoyed playing golf. Judy was a beautiful and dignified lady who will be remembered for her hard work and dedication to her family.

Judy's memory will be cherished by her children, Perri (David) Edel, of San Mateo, Calif., Jill Jandreski, of San Diego, Calif., Todd (Aimee) Jandreski, of Traverse City, and Becky (Tony) Ferras, of Brentwood, Calif.; 10 grandchildren, Ally Edel, Isabella and Olivia Jandreski, Amelia, Collin, Hunter and Elise Jandreski, and Madisen, Anthony and Ava Ferras; one sister, Ginny Maynard; one brother, Terry (Marge) Mulvihill; as well as sisters-in law, Shirley (David) Upthegrove and Genevieve; brother-in law, Alfred (Judy) Jandreski; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Judy was preceded in death by her loving husband of nearly 50 years, Hal this past July; her sister, Kathy and a sister in infancy; as well as her parents.

Visitation for friends and family will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012, at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, with Deacon Rene Hoenscheid officiating.
