PITTSFIELD TOWNSHIP — Beverly "Bev" Joan Bradfield, age 79, of Pittsfield Twp., passed away of natural causes Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012, at home. She was born on Oct. 11, 1932, in Detroit.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Thomas Canny and Elizabeth Shepard Robinson; and her husband, Jerome "Jerry" Bradfield.
Beverly and Jerry were business owners in Elk Rapids, The Town Club Bar & Restaurant and Bay Breeze Resort.
Bev was an avid roller skater and volleyball and shuffleboard player in her youth. She enjoyed Bingo, Mahjong, Euchre and her favorite, Bridge.
She was born and raised in Detroit, lived in Elk Rapids for many years and spent her last years in Pittsfield Township near Ann Arbor.
She is survived by her children, Bonny, Robin, Terry, Maureen and Dan; her two sisters, Pat Wheeler and Marge Canny; a brother, Stewart Graf Sr.; eight grandchildren, Angie Barricklow (Webber), Ron Webber, Andria Bronson-John, Mike Oatley, Noel Oatley, Chris Wagner, Dustin Burfiend and Amanda Burfiend; and 10 great-grandchildren, Ben, Cheyenne, Dakota, Nikomas, Saoirse, Waasnoday, Isabella, Josh, Kayleigh and Jordan. Bev also had many cherished cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws.
Bev was preceded in death by her brother, Chuck Kowalske.
A viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today with a funeral service to follow at the Muehlig Chapel in Ann Arbor. A Mass from the Order of Christian Funerals will be held on Saturday, Sept. 29, at Sacred Heart Church in Elk Rapids, with the Reverend Robert J. Zuchowski presiding. Viewing will be at 10 a.m., the funeral Mass at 11 a.m., with a luncheon following at 12:45 p.m.
