ARCADIA- Patricia Irene Bischoff, 88, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, June 7, 2014.
Patricia was born on March 17, 1926 in Royal Oak, Mich., the daughter of Arthur and Edith Boomer. Pat was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and loyal friend to many. She was a 1944 graduate from St. Mary’s High School in Royal Oak.
During the summer of 1945, while visiting her grandparents in Arcadia, she met and later married Walter Bischoff. They shared joy and love for 47 years of marriage. Walt and Pat loved life and there was always laughter among family and friends in their home. Pat is preceded in death by her husband Walt, daughter Teresa, and brothers Ralph, Jack and Donald.
Pat is survived by her brother Raymond Boomer of Muskegon, daughter Linda Hawkins of Arcadia, son Douglas Bischoff and wife Karen of Arcadia, son Earl Bischoff and wife Denise of Houston, Tex., and daughter Joanne Peterson and husband Michael of Benzonia. Pat also lives on in the thoughts and hearts of her many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and longtime friends she touched during her life spent in Arcadia.
Pat worked several years at the Arcadia Post Office and retired in 1989 as Post Master. She loved music and played the piano with a very special touch.
The family would like to express their profound gratitude to the local community fire department volunteer paramedics who answered calls on numerous occasions on her behalf, and a special thanks to the Hospice of Michigan for their unconditional love and care for Pat during this past year.

A celebration of Patricia’s life will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, June 12, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Frankfort.
The family has entrusted final arrangements to Jowett Funeral Home in Frankfort.
