KALKASKA — Mary Rose Hill David, 85, of Kalkaska, passed away June 5, 2014.
Mary was born in Detroit on June 21, 1928, to the late Frank and Anna (Tipa) Fonte. She married John E. Hill on June 21, 1948.
Mary is survived by her four children; sons, Melvin F. (Penny) Hill and John M. Hill; and daughters, Mary A. Hill and Marlene R. Hill. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Troy, Lance, Chelsea, Jennifer, Megan, Emily, Mindy, Brice and Erin; three great-grandchildren, Lexia, Abby and Liam; and many lifelong friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother. Mary was also preceded in death by her second husband, Edward David.
She married Ed in 1995 and is survived by Ed’s seven children, 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. One grandchild preceded her in death.
Mary loved spending winters in Florida at Hawaiian Isles in Ruskin. She most enjoyed gatherings with family and friends where she would cook many Italian dishes for all. She enjoyed gardening, collecting salt and pepper shakers and playing cards and games with friends and family.
Visitation will take place Monday, June 9, from 4 to 8 p.m., with a rosary recitation at 7 p.m., at Kalkaska Funeral Home, 152 S. Cedar St. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 10, at 1 p.m., at Kalkaska Funeral Home, with final visitation from noon to 1 p.m. Interment will follow in Garfield Township Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary’s name to the charity of one’s choice.
