SOUTH BOARDMAN — Margery Ellen Bernholtz, 80, of South Boardman, passed away on May 31, 2014, at Munson Hospice House in Traverse City. She was born on Aug. 24, 1933, in Barry County, to the late Ray and Luella (Talmage) Babcock.
Margery enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, gardening and tending her flower beds. She treasured her visits with her brothers and sisters, especially her time with her sister, Evelyn. Her friends at AlcoTec were also important to her.
Margery is survived by her children, Dale, Martin (Sarah), Larry (Vicky), Floyd (Pat), Laura (Pete) and Kim (Liela); nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; siblings, Hugh, Howard (Wilda), Evelyn, Gordon (Phyllis), Donna (Roland), Mel, Roy (Sandy) and Alma (Tom); many nieces and nephews; and special friends Alice, Joe, Betty, Sally and Arlene.
She was preceded in death by his parents; partner in life of over 34 years, Harold Prough; and siblings, Walter, Leah, Richard, Millie and Betty.
A luncheon will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2014, at the Legion Hall in South Boardman for both Margery and her brother-in-law, Arvid Blaisdell. A committal service will be held at 10 a.m. July 27, 2014, at Evergreen Cemetery in Kalkaska.
