KALKASKA — Forrest “Mike” Wooden, age 73, passed away at his home in Kalkaska on Wednesday, May 21, 2014. He was born on Aug. 7, 1940, in Grand Rapids, to the late Forrest and Vivian (Biddle) Wooden.
Mike made Kalkaska his home after moving here 40 years ago from Rockford. He loved Kalkaska and seemed to know everyone in town.
Mike worked for Kal-Con for 25 years.
He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.
Mike enjoyed fishing, reading, working in his yard and going to Turtle Creek Casino. He loved his family and loved spending time with them.
Mike will always be remembered for his kindness and integrity.
Mike is survived by his loving daughters, Raelene (Chris) Wooden-Hall, of San Diego, Calif., and Tracie Holka, of Kalkaska; his six cherished grandchildren, Ellie and Max Holka, and Hazel, Parker, Lawson and Chase Hall; his dear sister, Pat Kellogg, of Grand Rapids; and the mothers of his children, Joyce Hendricks and Betsy Wooden, both of Kalkaska.
Visitation for Mike will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2014, from 1 to 3 p.m., at Wolfe-O’Neill Funeral Home, with the funeral service following at 3 p.m. Pastor Matt Moser of the Calvary Baptist Church will be officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
