PIERPORT — Alice Marie Wangbichler, 75, of Pierport, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born Feb. 20, 1939, in Detroit, the daughter of Arleigh and Phoebe (Riipi) Jacobsen.
Alice earned her Bachelor of Art degree from Western Michigan University.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed solving puzzles; she especially enjoyed doing crossword puzzles in pen. She was also an avid reader.
Alice loved living on Lake Michigan in Pierport and watching the birds in the sanctuary around her home. She also loved traveling the world with her husband, Bob.
Most of all, Alice loved spending time with her family and taking care of the many cats and dogs that shared her life.
On July 8, 1961, in Redford Township, Alice married Bob Wangbichler, who survives her. She is also survived by her children, Kristin Wangbichler, of Grand Rapids, Eric Wangbichler, of Ortonville, and Matthew (Michelle) Wangbichler, of Macomb Township; and two grandchildren, Corinne and Nathan Wangbichler.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 17, 2014, at the Terwilliger Funeral Home in Kaleva. Interment will follow in the Pleasanton Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, May 16, 2014, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
