BUCKLEY — Lowell Johnson, age 66, of Buckley, passed away Friday, May 9, 2014, at Munson Medical Center. He was born July 17, 1947, in Pikeville, Ky., to William and Ella (Caudill) Johnson.
Lowell loved living near Traverse City especially in the summer. He always looked forward to flying his remote controlled model airplanes. Lowell was a member of the Traverse Area Model Pilots Society (T.R.A.M.P.S.), where he met some wonderful friends. He really enjoyed the events that involved teaching children all about flying planes.
Lowell is survived by his son, Adam (Ann) Johnson of Brownstown; sister, Linda (Romolo) Valentini of Mesick; brother, Luzon (Marsha) Johnson of Dearborn Heights; nephews, Tony and Daniel Valentini; a niece, Yvonne Johnson; and beloved dog Lacey.
Lowell was preceded in death by his parents.
A private family memorial service is being planned.
