TRAVERSE CITY — Douglas Elisha Kile Jr., age 28, of Traverse City, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, April 23, 2014.
Doug was born to Douglas Elisha Kile and Susan Nachazel in Charlevoix on Aug. 17, 1985. He grew up in the East Jordan area and also lived in southern Indiana.
Doug possessed the ability to fix anything and everything and never hesitated to apply his self-learned skills for the benefit of acquaintances and strangers alike. He was well known for easily and frequently striking up conversations with strangers but especially enjoyed conversing with those who were closest to him. All were familiar with his easy smile and his infectious laugh. Doug enjoyed spending his free time outdoors, working on cars, rebuilding electronics and playing with his children.
Family and friends will best remember Doug’s outgoing and compassionate nature, his willingness to help others and his overwhelming pride and love for his two sons.
Doug is survived by his children, Dolan Elisha Kile and Karsten Aaron Kile; mother, Susan (Nachazel) Ouellette; father, Douglas Kile; fiancée, Danielle Ramirez; sisters, Deanna Kile, Erica Morse and Hannah Gerrie; brother, Matthew Kile; nieces, Khyleigh, Savanna, Alayna and Lunabelle; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Private family services have been held. A graveside service for family and friends was held at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Boyne City on Tuesday, May 6, at 1:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be directed to Matthew Kile, c/o Stackus Funeral Home, 417 Elm Street, Boyne City, MI 49712 for use towards a memorial tribute at the cemetery.
