TRAVERSE CITY — Amy Ruth Case, 82, of Traverse City, formerly of Benzie County, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2014, at Cherry Hill Haven Nest in Long Lake Township. Amy was born on Feb. 28, 1932, in Benzonia, to Alton Charles Case and Dorothy (England).
She was salutatorian at Benzonia High, class of 1950.
On July 3, 1954, Amy married James Arthur Letcher at the Benzonia Congregational Church.
She is survived by her son, James C.(Elaine) Letcher of Reno, Nev.; daughter, Lynette S.(Tim) Skimin of Interlochen; grandchildren, Brendon(Ashley) Skimin of Thompsonville, and Timothy Skimin of Interlochen; great-granddaughter, Erin Skimin; sister, Nancy (Larry) Czap of Beulah and Venice, Fla.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Emily Wallace.

Memorial services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 30, at the Bennett-Barz Funeral Home in Beulah, with Dr. Paul S. Hammer officiating.
