TRAVERSE CITY — Ila Mae (Boyd) Case, age 95, of Traverse City, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2014, at Munson Medical Center. She was born May 24, 1918, in Williamsburg, to John and Ella (Ayers) Boyd.
She married the late Clyde E. Case on Sept. 17, 1940, in Byron, Ohio. Together they raised four children.
Ila worked for Woolworths, Tru-Fit Trouser, Essex Manufacturing and Chef Pierre.
She had an amazing green thumb and loved to garden. She also loved to sew, embroider and read anything she could get her hands on.
Ila is survived by daughters, Margaret JoAnn (Jim) Smith, of Traverse City, Barbara (Harry) Wolff, of Buckley, and Ellen (Fred) Kevwitch, of Interlochen; one brother; two sisters; 17 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great grandchildren; and two great-great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Ila was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde; son, Robert E. Case; six brothers; and one sister.
Per her wishes, cremation has taken place.
Memorial contributions in Ila’s name may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Covell Funeral Home of Traverse City.
