TRAVERSE CITY — Gracefully and peacefully, just as she lived her life on this earth, Mildred Elinor DePuy passed on to Life Everlasting on June 17, 2013. Mildred was born in Central Lake, Michigan April 26, 1930 to Florence and Glen Green. In 1948 she married Lloyd Kreiser from Traverse City and together they raised their three children.
In 1955 Mildred graduated from Practical Nursing School. She worked several years at Munson Hospital, always insisting that she work only during the school year so she could be home with her children during the summer months.
During their retirement years Milly and Lloyd spent many happy winters as snowbirds in Florida. Lloyd passed away in 1980 and in 1994 she married Richard DePuy who survives.
Milly will be remembered for her quick wit and sense of humor, her gentleness, the unconditional love she so freely gave to her family, and her beautiful, big blue eyes that lit up each time she smiled.
Milly will also be remembered for her valiant and brave struggle with Parkinson’s Disease in her later years, never once complaining, not even on her worst days. She reminds each of us to always count our blessings and to keep a positive attitude.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lloyd, two brothers, Robert Green and Sgt. C. Richard Green in the service of our country.
She is survived by her three loving children, Connie (Paul) Unkefer, Craig (Joelyn) Kreiser, and Toni (Raymond) Arthur. Also surviving are her seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A private memorial service is scheduled.
The family wishes to thank the entire staff at French Manor Assisted Living of Traverse City for their compassionate care and support. Memorials may be directed to French Manor, 908 West Seventh Street, Traverse City, MI 49684.
