THOMPSONVILLE — Sheryl Lynn Dunham, 56, of Thompsonville, died unexpectedly Friday, June 14, 2013, at her home. She was born Aug. 25, 1956 in Traverse City, the daughter of Robert and Clara (Jennett) Powell.
Sheryl was a sweet, kind, caring and loving wife, mother and grandmother who was always willing to help others. She was currently employed at the Park Place Hotel, in Traverse City, where she worked for many years. In her spare time, Sheryl loved crocheting and going camping. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren.
On April 19, 2008, Sheryl married Johnny E. Dunham, who survives her. She is also survived by her mother, Clara Parker of Traverse City; her children, Chris (Holli) Werp of Interlochen, Elizabeth Werp of Kingsley and Timothy Hunt of Thompsonville; her step-daughter, Brygida (Marc) Dieremaker of Macomb Township; six grandchildren; three sisters, Nancy Hubert of Grawn, Judi (Dan) Guith of Interlochen and Karen (Colin) Husband of Traverse City; two brothers, Randy Powell of Traverse City and Jon (Jo) Powell of Grawn; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Sheryl was preceded in death by her father, Robert Powell; and her daughter, Melissa Werp in infancy.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, June 21, 2013, at Cleon Township Cemetery, in Copemish, with Reverend Daniel E. Furman officiating.
