FAIRBANKS, Alaska — Shjon Ethan Brown, 9, of Fairbanks, Alaska, died April 13, 2013, in an unfortunate accident while doing something he loved.
He was born Oct. 8, 2003, in Fairbanks, to Roger Brown and Eleonore (Falke) Waller.
He was a student at Denali Elementary School, where he formed many strong bonds with faculty and students with his infectious smile and caring personality. He became the self-appointed welcoming committee for new students and was quick to make friends with everyone he met. He was a proud member of the Midnight Sun Swim Team and looked forward to every opportunity to be in the water.
He embraced everything Alaska had to offer, from endless summer days playing baseball, to crisp fall mornings moose hunting at Healy Lake. The long winter nights were usually spent at the pool, snuggling up with a good book or sharing his contagious laugh while watching a funny movie. The ever-increasing daylight of spring along with warmer temperatures allowed him to embrace his favorite time of the year by spending long days on the ski slopes or riding his snowmobile. Shjon had a true adventurous spirit with a maturity far beyond his years. His enthusiasm for life was contagious and felt by all who knew him. He will be dearly missed.
Shjon is survived by his parents, Roger Brown and Eleonore Waller, of Fairbanks, Alaska; his stepfather, Brandon Waller; his maternal grandparents, Roger and Tina Brown, of Traverse City, and Wolfgang Falke, of Fairbanks, Alaska; great-grandmothers, Shirley Brown and Fannie Udell, of Traverse City, and Marlene Brown, of Shawano, Wis.; uncles, Ryan (Talia) Brown, of Saginaw, Caleb Brown, of Traverse City, Corey Brown, of Traverse City, Stefan (Kristin) Falke, of Fairfax, Va., and Christoph (Lynette), of Fairbanks, Alaska; aunts, Jenifer (Danny) Holt, of Salem, Ore., Andrea (Dietmar) Falk, of Breinig, Germany, and Rita (Dave) Jones, of Traverse City; cousins, Evan, Ryan and Annabell Falke, of Fairfax, Va., Markus, Annika, Nadja and Finya Falke, of Breinig, Germany, Gabby, Maya, Anna and Bryn Falke, of Fairbanks, Alaska, Reese Jones, of Traverse City, and Violet Brown, of Saginaw. Shjon also leaves behind a large step family, the Wallers and Stovalls from Fairbanks, Alaska, and North Pole, Alaska.
