MESICK — Albert Roy Kumm, 89, of Mesick, died April 11, 2013, at home with his family by his side. He was born July 29, 1923, in Hamtramck, the son of Albert and Bertha (Claven) Kumm.
Albert went to work for Michigan Bell as a Supply Helper on Feb. 9, 1942. He retired in 1982 as a Supply Supervisor. Albert played many intramural sports, including baseball and softball. He was an avid bowler and traveled the country on a sponsored league. In his spare time, he loved to play golf.
Albert is survived by his children, Alan Kumm of Saginaw, Linda (Jim Koeune) Kumm of Manistique, and Mark (Pam) Kumm of Saginaw; two step-children, Lonna Harrison of Frankfort, and Vanessa (Bruce) Wagner of Shipshewana, Ind.; and his adopted family, Mark and Tami Evans and their children, Zachary, Rylee, and Zoe.
On March 3, 1973, Albert married Joyce Burroughs, who preceded him in death in 2004. He was also preceded in death by his son, David Kumm; his step-chldren, Dayle and Rhonda Harrison; his sister, Margaret Bross; and his parents.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 18, at Minar Bible Church, in Mesick, with Pastor Bruce Rose officiating. Visitation will be held from noon until time of services at the church.
