FENTON — Elizabeth Anna “Betty” Dery, age 97, of Fenton, loving wife of the late Claude Jennings Dery, died Nov. 21, 2013.
Elizabeth was born March 7, 1916, in Lansing.
Elizabeth was a graduate of Flint Northern High School and Baker Business School in Flint.
She married Claude Jennings Dery on Nov. 8, 1941, at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church in Flint.
She worked many years as an assistant librarian at North Road Elementary School.
Surviving are four children, Fredrick and wife, Margaret Dery, John and wife, Rita Dery, Ronald and wife, Barbara Dery, and Mary Catherine and husband, William Lambert; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude J. Dery; parents, Frederick and Florence Fromholz; brother, Robert Fromholz and his wife, Donna.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 25, 2013, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton. Fr. Dwight Ezop will serve as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:30 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton, and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass Monday at church. A rosary recitation will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday.
