KALKASKA — Marjorie “Marjie” Dunn Sanderson, 85, passed away on July 26, 2013, at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center — LTC.
She was born on Feb. 24, 1928, in Detroit, the daughter of the late Cleon and Florence (Rifenbergh) Cleaver. Marjie was a graduate of Mackenzie High School in Detroit. After living in Dearborn Heights for 22 years, she and her husband moved to Kalkaska in 1973. Marjie loved knitting and crafting. She made creative Halloween costumes and enjoyed wearing them. She was a cashier for many years and retired as the Kalkaska County Treasurer. She was also a KAIR volunteer when she wasn’t busy being a winter Texan.
Marjie is survived by her daughters, Patricia Rahn of Lewiston and Barbara (Mike) Carlisle of Seven Fields, Pa.; stepchildren, James (Patti) Sanderson III of Saginaw and Cheri (Doug) Ashley of Cedar Springs; 13 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Preceding Marjie in death was her first husband, Max Dunn; second husband, James Sanderson, Jr.; and her daughter, Kathy Frederick.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 3, at 2 p.m. at Wolfe-O’Neill Funeral Home, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
