---- — SOUTH BOARDMAN — Frank “Call me Tom” Miller, age 76, passed away at his home in South Boardman on Sunday, July 14, 2013. He was born in Detroit on Oct. 1, 1936.
Tom was raised in Detroit and attended All Saints Catholic High School.
He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy during the Korean War.
Tom was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post #232 in Dearborn and past Commander of Post #200 in Taylor and of the 16th District. He was also a member of the Canadian Navy League.
He was employed by Pipe Fitters Union Local #636 and was a member of that union for over 40 years.
Tom married Bonnie Larabee in 1991 in Toledo, Ohio, and they moved to South Boardman in 1998.
He was a security officer at the Turtle Creek Casino from 2005 to 2009. Tom loved his job and the people he worked with at the casino.
He was a very happy person and loved everyone. Tom was a jokester and enjoyed teasing his friends and family. He was an avid sports fan, especially of the Detroit Red Wings.
Tom will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Tom is survived by his wife, Bonnie A. Miller; his children, Frank (Karen) Miller, of Grosse Isle, Cheryl (Richard) Miller, of Lincoln Park, and Brian (Sandy) Miller, of Riverview; his stepchildren, Dawn (Jerry) McDonald, of Monroe, Brandy Hawley, of Fife Lake, and Connie (Donald) Hamlet, of Fife Lake; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; his brother, Raymond (Jeanette) Miller, of Allen Park; and the mother of his children, Marie Miller, of Lincoln Park.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his great-granddaughter, Adriana.
Visitation for Tom will be held today, July 18, 2013, from 3 to 8 p.m., at Wolfe-O’Neill Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Friday at 11 a.m., also at the funeral home, with Pastor Bob J. Freysinger officiating.
