KALKASKA — Joyce Ellen Custer, of Kalkaska, passed away peacefully July 10, 2014, in her daughter’s home in Coleman. She was born Aug. 28, 1945, to the late Cameron A. and Elva Marie (Foster) Bissett in Port Huron. Joyce had been a resident of the Kalkaska area since moving to Kalkaska in 1962 with her parents.
Joyce is survived by her daughters, Lori E. Custer, of Coleman, and Dawn K. Burdek, of Traverse City; her grandchildren, Hannah M. Burdek and Nathan R. Burdek, of Traverse City; her siblings, Marilyn (Gene) Munro, of Fife Lake, Charlotte (Adrian) Kippen, of South Boardman, and Wayne (Carol) Bissett, of South Boardman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death was her sister, Linda Nadine Sundling.
Joyce was employed as a press operator at various manufacturing plants in the area with the most recent being Great Lakes Trim in Williamsburg.
Joyce enjoyed spending time with her family and watching classic western movies. She loved classic cars, milkshakes, horses and John Wayne.
She was loved deeply by her family and will be missed.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 15, at 1 p.m., at the Wolfe-O’Neill Funeral Home in Kalkaska, with visitation from noon until the time of service. Pastor Kim Hough from Garfield Country Church will officiate. Burial will be in Lodi Cemetery.
