TRAVERSE CITY — Gerald J. Chile, age 62, of Traverse City passed away Sunday, June 22, 2014. He was born July 2, 1951 in Traverse City to Joseph and Elizabeth (Johnson) Chile.
He graduated from Traverse City Central High School and worked for Cone Drive and later for Alco Tech for over 20 years. Jerry was married to Char Gusha (Barnes) for 20 years, raising three children.
Jerry was an avid and accomplished golfer. He loved being outdoors and also spent much of his time fishing.
Jerry will be greatly missed by his three children: Jennifer (Darren) Burnham of Gainesville, Ga., Jerry (Jaime) Chile of Cincinnati, Ohio and Amy (Ryan) Grant of Lake Ann, along with his six grandchildren; Madison and Keegan Burnham, Cooper and Harper Chile, and Samantha and Landen Grant; and his brothers, Sam (Mitzi) Chile and Joe (Lorna) Chile and brother-in-law Eddie Morrison.
Besides his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his sister Rosemary Morrison.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 5, 2014, at the Bay Pointe Community Church, with visitation one hour prior.
Memorial contributions in Jerry’s name may be directed to Hospice of Michigan.
