TRAVERSE CITY — Victor Lorenz Drone, 61, of Traverse City, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2014, at his daughter’s home in Interlochen after a determined battle with cancer. Victor was born on Aug. 4, 1952, in Traverse City, the son of Edward and Orpha (Reincke) Drone.
Victor was a quiet and thoughtful man who was sensitive to the needs and feelings of others. He was incredibly smart and had special interest in history focusing on the Civil War and presidents. Victor was a major sports fanatic, especially football, baseball and college basketball. He was a passionate reader and crossword puzzle master. Victor always loved spending time with his family at picnics and reunions and will be greatly missed.
Victor is survived by his mother, Orpha; daughters, Jamie Lynne Drone and Billie Jean (Richard) Robb; grandsons, Collin Robb, Andrew and Matthew Closson; sisters, Alaine (Carl) Lacki, Carole Jackson and Susan (Frank) Bauer; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
