Anne Kathryn Walker

FERRYSBURG — Anne Kathryn Walker, age 94, of Ferrysburg, passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2014, in Traverse City, surrounded by her loving family. Anne was born June 25, 1919, to Benjamin and Elizabeth (Katt) Rosema in Spring Lake.

She married James Walker on Jan. 4, 1945, in Spring Lake. He preceded her in death in 1988.

Anne worked for the Ottawa County Clerk as a secretary for 16 years, retiring in 1981.

She volunteered as an election official for the Ottawa County Board of Elections.

Anne enjoyed knitting, baking and reading and never met a baby she didn’t love. Her life was characterized by her love and generosity to her family and friends. Children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren devoured cookies lovingly sent to them in the mail.

Anne will be deeply missed by family and friends

She is survived by her daughter, Kristin Myles, of Greensboro, N.C.; son, Scott (Polly) Walker, of Kewadin; son-in-law, William (Gina) Keough, of Novi; grandchildren, Scott (Erika) Keough, Sara (Eric) Conn, Anna Kate Myles, Abigail Myles, Ail Walker, Molly Walker and Cole Walker; great-grandchildren, Liam, Ethan and Fiona Keough; and many devoted nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Keough; brothers, Harold, Maurice and Robert Rosema; and dear sister, Elizabeth (Bette) Bultema.

The family extends special thanks for the excellent care given by the staff of French Manor.

The funeral service for Anne will be June 17 at Klaassen Family Funeral Home, 1500 Robbins Road, Grand Haven, MI. Pastor Matt Mabey will officiate. Interment will be in Spring Lake Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Monday, June 16, 6:30 to 8 p.m., and Tuesday, June 17, from 1 to 2 p.m., with the service at 2 p.m., at Klaassen Family Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to Hospice of Michigan.
