FRANKFORT — Ward Eugene DeLong, 86, of Frankfort, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. He was born Dec. 6, 1926, in Pontiac, the son of Ward and Nina (Keillor) DeLong.
Ward had worked at Lakeshore Industries and the Brookside Restaurant.
He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved the Platte Lake and enjoyed fishing from his pontoon boat. He also loved to take long walks. Most of all, Ward loved to spend time with his family, especially with his nieces and nephews.
Ward is survived by his sister, Lois (Gerald) Hammond, of Beulah; and his brother, Robert DeLong, of Mesick; several nieces and nephews; and his caregiver family, Robert and Lynn Kuehneman, of Beulah.
Ward was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Donna Dennis and Bonnie Culp; and his brothers, Stewart DeLong and Leo DeLong.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, June 28, at the Benzonia Township Cemetery in Benzonia.
