NORTHVILLE — David L. Kellar, age 76, a longtime resident of Northville, passed away Oct. 27, 2013. He was born on June 11, 1937, in Grand Rapids, son of Francis and Lula (nee Shaver) Kellar.
After high school he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.
Dave was united in marriage to Lee Grasmeyer on Dec. 22, 1962; they would have celebrated 51 years of marriage this December.
He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Western Michigan University, and he also began his master’s degree at WMU.
Before acquiring his job as a systems analyst with AT&T, Dave was a math teacher at a high school in Vicksburg.
He enjoyed camping and traveling. Dave spent winters in Dade City, Fla., and summers in Traverse City. He also enjoyed watching football and baseball games. He was nicknamed “Super Dave” by his son’s fraternity Delta Sigma Phi.
There wasn’t anything Dave wouldn’t do for his family and friends. He was a very devoted and caring husband and father.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lee Kellar; his son, Chuck Kellar; and his sister, Jeanne Beaty.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, William Lethcho and Phillip Kellar.
Visitation will be held Friday, Nov. 1, 2013, from 1 to 2 p.m., with a memorial service beginning at 2 p.m., at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 West Dunlap, Northville; (248) 349-0611.
