---- — MIDLAND — Randall B. Komar, age 48, of Midland, passed away Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, at his home with family by his side. Randall was born July 24, 1965, in Livonia, the youngest child of Ernest and Barbara (Hale) Komar.
He graduated from Alma High School in 1983. Upon completion of high school he attended the University of Michigan and graduated in 1987 with a BA in economics. Randall belonged to the U of M Alumni Association.
He owned and operated Prime Industrial Fasteners and Alma Bolt Company with his brother, Darrell.
Randall enjoyed traveling the world, skiing in Colorado, boating in Traverse City and sailing around Catalina. He loved spending time with his lifelong friends, family and Casey, his faithful companion.
He is survived by his mother, Barbara, of Alma; brother, Darrell Komar, of Alma; sister, Laura Komar, of San Mateo, Calif.; aunts and uncles, Janet Isom, Bo and Kazumi Komar, Don and Jan Hale; and many cousins.
Randall was preceded in death by his father, Ernest; and a special dog, Casey.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013, at 11 a.m., at the Alma College Chapel, with Pastor Carl Cecil officiating. Private family interment will be held at a later date at Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lux-Moody-Wolfel Funeral Home, Alma.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Community Foundation, 1131 E. Center St., PO Box 310, Ithaca, MI 48847, in memory of Randall Komar for the benefit of cancer patients.
