FRANKFORT — George Daniel McGraw, of Frankfort, 83, died March 31, 2013, at home. Born Dec. 19, 1929, the son of Florence and Floyd McGraw. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army.
On March 8, 1980, George married the love of his life Deborah M. Brasseur, celebrating 33 years of marriage. They were the best of friends always cheering on one another. He was a man of many interests such as volunteering his time for hospitals, nursing homes, schools and community fundraisers where he would perform an act as a magician. He was also a man of the out-of-doors, enjoying fishing, hunting, golfing and frontier reenactments of the Rendezvous Weekends with ceremonies, black powder and costumes.
George built an outdoor Station of the Cross for St. Ann Catholic Church.
He retired from G.M. after 31 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah; children, George Jr. (Karen) McGraw of West Branch, Mich., Michael (Cheryl) McGraw of Athens, Ala., Matthew (Rebecca) McGraw of Swartz Creek, Mich. and Linda (Kevin) McGlelland of Flushing, Mich.; siblings, Marge Cook of Clio and Leroy McGraw of South Port, Fla.; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
A Mass of a Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, at St. Ann Catholic Church with Fr. John Porter officiating. In lieu of flowers contributions may be directed to Hospice of Michigan or St. Ann Catholic Church. Arrangements by Jowett Family Funeral Homes & Cremation Service.
