BELLAIRE — Ruth M. Simms, 87, of Bellaire, passed away on Feb. 28, 2013, at McLaren Northern Michigan in Petoskey. Ruth was born on Oct. 23, 1925, in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada,the daughter of William and Edith (Foster) Brown.
Ruth enjoyed gardening, feeding her animals, going to church and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers, as well as Jake Slater the “Elvis” impersonator from Bellaire.
She is survived by a daughter, Kim (Tom) Yuill, of Bellaire; two grandchildren, Frank (Jenny) Moore, of Gaylord, and Scott (Samantha) Stefanko, of Gaylord; six great-grandchildren, Keagan, Kyle, Kameron, Chelsea, Kwintyn and Seth; as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, three sisters and a brother.
Memorial services will take place on Saturday, March 9, at 1 p.m., at the Berean Bible Church in Topinabee.
