TRAVERSE CITY — Ruth Ann Graves, age 72, of Traverse City, went to be with the Lord on Jan. 6, 2013, at her home surrounded by her family. Ruth was born on Nov. 6, 1940, to Lee and Bertha (Hoyt) Fairbairn in Grand Rapids.
She enjoyed camping, traveling, playing cards, Tiger baseball, and riding motorcycles with her husband and family. Ruth will be sincerely missed by her family and friends.
Ruth is survived by her husband of 52 years, Norman Graves; her children, Dawn (Al) LaBonte of Midland, Yvonne (Jim) Harris of Traverse City, Roger (Sherry) Graves of Traverse City, Norma (Jeff) Erickson of Traverse City, Melissa (Ron) Teatro of Davison, Mark (Amy) Graves of Buckley, and Tammie (Jim) Hawkins of Phoenix, Ariz.; 23 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters; two brothers; and many other loving family members and friends.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Donna Kaman and Lynette Moose.
A gathering of family and friends will take place today, Jan. 8, at 4 p.m. at First Christian Church, 3686 W. South Airport Road, Traverse City.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed in her name to Hospice of Michigan at HOM.org, which made it possible for her to remain in the comfort of her own home until her passing.
