TRAVERSE CITY — Patricia Ann Fleis, 69, passed away at her home unexpectedly on Friday, Oct. 26, 2012.
Pat was born on April 26, 1943, in Milwaukee, Wis., the daughter of Raymond and Mary (Glowacki) Barczak. On Oct. 21, 1962, also in Milwaukee, she married Anthony Francis Fleis who preceded her in death on Sept. 11, 2003.
Pat and Tony raised their children in Cedar, where she was an active community member. She was a lifelong member of Holy Rosary Church and recently of St. Francis. For over 40 years she was the Avon lady and also worked at many local restaurants. She was proud of her Polish heritage, strong in her faith and loved her family immensely.
Pat is survived by her five children, Angela (David) Brzeczkowski, Antoinette (Matthew) Gawin, Raymond (Carolyn) Fleis, Carolyn (Aaron) Keigley, and Patrick (Kristine) Fleis; 11 grandchildren, William, Justin, Andrea, Nikolai, Margaret, Anna , Anthony, Alexander, Braden, Connor, and Zachary; a brother, Michael (Bernadette) Barczak; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, Oct. 30, at the Martinson Funeral Home of Suttons Bay. The funeral Mass will be celebrated today, Oct. 31, at 10 a.m. at St. Francis Catholic Church, Traverse City, with a visitation held one hour prior. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Isadore. The Rev. Kenneth Stachnik will serve as celebrant. Luncheon will follow at Holy Rosary Church, Isadore.
