MAPLE CITY — Louis “LT” Thomas Davis, 88, of Maple City, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, at his home comforted by his family.
LT was born on May 19, 1925, in Depoy, Ky., to Claude Davis and Mary Etha Dixon. On June 29, 1946, LT married the love of his life, Patricia Phyllis Brill, and together they raised four boys.
LT worked for many years at Hydramatic Transmission as a master mechanic. He had a knack for making friends wherever he went and was perhaps the greatest stroyteller of his time. He welcomed everyone into his home, sang to his great-granddaughters, and never turned his back on a wayward soul. LT was an avid horseshoe player and could make the best bloody mary you’ve ever tried.
LT is survived by his sons, James Davis of Cedar and William Davis of Vallejo, Calif.; daughter-in-law, Kathy Warsaw of Wayne; sister, Claudia Anderson of Canton; grandchildren, Brian Davis of Maple City, Natalie Wolfe of Menlo Park, Calif., and Evan Davis of Grawn; great-granddaughters, Perla and Frances Wolfe; along with many other loving family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia; sons, Thomas and Michael; parents, Claude and Mary Etha; sisters, Avanelle Squibbs and Charlotte McCowan; brothers, James Lee Davis, Dixon Davis, Macon Davis, Clayburn Davis, and Rayburn Davis.
A celebration of LT’s life will be held Oct. 19, at the American Legion Hall Post 199 in Maple City at 1 p.m. Arrangements were entrusted to Kalkaska Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
