TRAVERSE CITY — On Oct. 5, 2013, at age 58, Michael W. Donovan died after a long hard battle with illness, at his home in northern Michigan.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie Scott; his mother, Jacquelyn Donovan; his sister, Mary Beth Donovan; his aunts and uncles, Patrick and Caroline Donovan, Pauline Donovan, Bill and Marge Bush; along with many cousins. He is also survived by his step-daughter, Katherine Keely Scott, her partner, Kevin McDermott, and his beloved granddaughter, Makena Scott McDermott. He was predeceased by his father, Richard Donovan.
Mike was a proud third generation graduate of Notre Dame University, and a graduate of DePaul University College of Law. He practiced law for over 30 years in Grand Rapids and Traverse City and was recognized by his peers with the highest possible professional ratings. His wit, charm and generosity earned him many dear friends including his special friend Breann.
Mike’s life will be celebrated at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, at Fountain Street Church, 24 Fountain Street NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Metro Health Hospital Foundation, St. Monica School in Kalamazoo, Munson Home Health Hospice in Traverse City or a charity of your choice.
