BUCKLEY — Melissa Ann “Missy” Hromada, 40, of Buckley, passed away Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013. Missy was born the daughter of George and Doneva (Lentz) Hromada on March 9, 1973, in Traverse City.
Missy grew up in Buckley and graduated class valedictorian from Buckley High School class of 1991. She then went on to attend Kendall College of Art and Design, graduating in 1995.
Missy owned and operated Mel Graphics and Design and was also employed at Bay Supply of Traverse City.
She loved being a graphic designer, riding horses, spending time with friends and family, her dogs, but mostly Missy loved her two-year-old son, George. He was the center of her universe, and she spent many hours baking cookies, playing in the sand and reading to him.
Missy is survived by her son, George Middaugh; her brother, Ernie (Georgenia) Hromada, of Lake Ann; her mother, Doneva Hromada, of Buckley; beloved nieces and nephew, Terri, Lissa and Ernie Jr. “EJ”; and many cousins, aunts, uncles and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, George Hromada.
A memorial service to celebrate Missy’s life will be held at Kingsley Baptist Church on Oct. 12, 2013, at 2 p.m. A luncheon will immediately follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made at the Honor Bank or via PayPal in the name of Michelle Phillips or Ernest Hromada to help with the cost of Missy’s final expenses and George’s care.
