WILLIAMSBURG — Chauncey “Doc” Ewart North Jr., 84, of Williamsburg, passed away on Sept. 25, 2013, at home. He was born on March 5, 1929, in Flint, to the late Chauncey Sr. and Irene (Rose) North.
Doc married June Thomas on April 16, 1950, and they enjoyed 51 years together until she passed in 2001.
He loved the outdoors, camping with the family, fishing and motorcycles.
Doc is survived by his children, Cindy Zinger, Robert North, Janice Franklin, Johnny (Cindy) North and Lori North (Mike Gallo); 24 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Virginia North; two sisters, Peggy Pickard and Lucille Sucharski; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, June; son, Donald in 2013; three brothers, Charles, Buddy and Robert; sister, Elizabeth; granddaughter, Melissa; and two sons-in-law, John Franklin and John Zinger.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at Kalkaska Funeral Home, 152 S. Cedar St., Kalkaska, where a gathering will be held beginning at 2 p.m.
