---- — CEDAR — Ralph Howard Parker, 90, of Cedar, passed away Sept. 23, 2013 at his home.
Ralph was born on April 12, 1923, in Cedar to the late Howard and Esther (Loeffler) Parker.
Ralph honorably served in the United States Army during World War II.
On June 17, 1950, Ralph married the late Dorothy Stephenson.
Ralph was an electrician for the public schools as well as a farmer. Ralph was a member of Bayview Wesleyan Church and American Legion Bowen-Holliday Post 35. In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking.
Ralph is survived by his children, Doris (Tim) Coffey of Murfreesboro, Tenn., William “Bill” (Monique) Parker of Greer, S.C., Robert “Bob” Parker of Cedar, and Brent (Jennie) Parker of Cedar; brother, Keith (Margaret) Parker of Cedar; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and brother, Paul.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 25, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Pastor Matthew Maybe will lead the funeral service on Thursday, Sept. 26, at 11 a.m. at Bayview Wesleyan Church. Graveside services will follow at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens where Ralph will receive full military honors from VFW Cherryland Post #2780.
