Eva B. Tyrer-Hoch


TRAVERSE CITY — Eva B.Tyrer- Hoch, age 96 of Traverse City, died Monday, Dec. 24 at Munson Medical Center. Eva was born on Jan. 22, 1916 in Traverse City, to Alofonzo and Blanche (Larabee) Tyrer. She has been a lifelong resident of the area. On Aug. 5, 1939, she married Raymond A. Hoch, who preceded her in death in 1986.

Eva attended the T.C. Senior Center, and enjoyed sewing and embroidery.

She is survived by her son Irving R. (Cheryl) of Traverse City, and daughters Joanne Thayer of Traverse City, Sharon (Rick) Fewless of Kingsley, and Eva (Fred) Koselke of Indiana. Also surviving is a sister Betty (Jake) Wabichto of Fruitport, Mich., 16 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her son Kenneth, daughter Sandy, brothers Russell, Raymond and Floyd, and sisters Bernice and Margaret.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., on Saturday, Dec. 29, from the Covell Funeral Home, 232 E. State St. in Traverse City. Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hoch Family through the funeral home.
