TRAVERSE CITY — Gaylia Ann (Fuller) Correll passed away Nov. 6, 2012, at the age of 81. She was born March 28, 1931, in Kalkaska County, to Robert P. and Gladys M. (Eley) Fuller.
Gaylia was a 1949 graduate of Traverse City High School.
On Aug. 20, 1950, she married her husband, Donald L. Correll, in the Ogdensburg Methodist Church. He preceded her in death in 1965.
Since 1965 Gaylia had been a resident of Traverse City and an active member of Central United Methodist Church.
After retiring from Sarah Lee Gaylia started her own cleaning business, which she worked at until she retired in 2001.
Gaylia was a kind, humble and loving mother who gave freely of her time and gifts to support her family, church and community.
She will be sadly missed by her children, Judy (Bruce) Behnke, of Las Vegas, and Jim Correll, of Traverse City; five grandchildren, Abigail Behnke Thompson and Steven (Rachel) Behnke, of Las Vegas, Jamie (Marci) Correll, of Lake Ann, Jesse (Mary Kay) Correll, of Traverse City, and Joe Correll, of Buckley; and nine great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by a brother, David (Marian) Fuller, of Cadillac; a sister, Marilyn (Robert) Judson, of Elkhart, Ind.; sister-in-law, Shirley Fuller, of Traverse City; one aunt; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her husband, Gaylia was preceded in death by her oldest son, Donald Correll Jr.; a brother, Calvin Fuller; and her parents.
The funeral service will take place at 11 a.m., with a viewing for friends and family at 10 a.m., on Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, at Central United Methodist Church, Traverse City. Burial will be after the service at 1:15 p.m. at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to one of Gaylia's favorite charities, the Salvation Army, Traverse City, MI; a VA hospital; Traverse City Heart & Vascular; or the Biederman Cancer Treatment Center in Traverse City.
