Frances Carlton Ebaugh Berg

TRAVERSE CITY — There was a grand celebration in Heaven Tuesday evening, Oct. 2, as Fran reunited with her husband, Harry, her parents, sisters and other loved ones who preceded her in death. She was 96.

Fran's American ancestors arrived from Switzerland seven years before the Revolutionary War. Her Great Aunt Sally (made deaf at the age of two from the battle that raged outside her Gettysburg home during the Civil War) taught Fran sign language. As a teenager, Fran square-danced with Henry Ford.

Despite these American bragging rights, what made her beam the most were her two sons, Douglas and Gordon and their spouses; her four grandchildren and their spouses; eight great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and friends.

A four-year resident of Traverse City at Bay Ridge Assisted Living, Fran was grateful for the love and care she received from everyone there.

And now, she leaves behind a legacy of love — boundless and beaming.

Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6, at the Oak Grove Cemetery Chapel in Manistee, where burial will also take place.

Memorial donations in Fran's name may be directed to Hospice of Michigan.

Please visit Fran's personal memory page at www.oakgrovefh.com to share a memory or photo with the family.

The family has entrusted funeral arrangements to Oak Grove Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
