TRAVERSE CITY — Daniel A. Dolanski, D.O., of Traverse City, went to be with his heavenly father on Oct. 1, 2012.
Dan was born in Hamtramck to Arthur and Stella Dolanski on Sept. 16, 1946. He married his true love, Patricia, on March 22, 1969, in Detroit.
Dan loved life. He was an adoring husband, loving father and grandfather, avid fisherman, caring physician and devoted friend. Dan knew the meaning of joy and found delight in a cup of coffee on the deck, the thrill of a big catch, his daughter's soprano voice, a hearty laugh over a good joke and a made-up game of sticker-tag.
Dan received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from The College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in Des Moines, Iowa, in 1973. He was in private practice in Kalkaska for 11 years. In 1985, Dan accepted a position with the State of Michigan, where he worked most recently as a medical doctor for Disability Determination.
Dan is survived by his wife, Patricia Jo Dolanski; his daughters, Jessica Jo Moy (Derek), of Okemos, and Kimberley Jo Osburn (Joshua), of West Bloomfield; his grandsons, Cameron Daniel Moy and Morgan Hennings Moy, of Okemos; and brother, Dr. Eugene A. Dolanski.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Stella Dolanski.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Oct. 5, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City. Visitation will also take place Saturday, Oct. 6, from 3 to 4 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 4 p.m., also at Reynolds-Jonkhoff.
