KALKASKA — Margaret “Peggy” Duran, age 50, passed away at her home in Kalkaska on Monday, June 17, 2013. She was born on July 6, 1962, in Olney, Ill., to Phillip E. and Ruth M. (Blank) Coan.
Peggy was a member of the Kalkaska Township Fire Department Station 7. She was also on the board for the Kalkaska County Fair. Peggy was a volunteer for the Northern Michigan DeColores Ministries and assisted in their weekend retreats.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Surviving Peggy are her son, Chadwick Andrew Duran, of Kalkaska; her parents, Phillip and Ruth Coan, of Kalkaska; her brother, Vern (Lori) Coan, of Kalkaska; her sisters, Robin Maroncelli, of Park Forest, Ill., and Lois (Jim) Nation, of Kalkaska; her niece and nephews, Katherine, Gavin, Levi, Garret and Nicholas; and her faithful companion and puppy, Liberty.
Visitation for Peggy will be held on Friday, June 21, from 3 to 8 p.m., at Wolfe-O’Neill Funeral Home, with a rosary recitation at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be on Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church, with the Reverend Norman Dickson, S.J. officiating.
