---- — HONOR — Robert Eugene Andrews, 86, of Honor, died June 9, 2013, at his home. Born in Wyandot on Nov. 5, 1926, he was the son of Matthew and Lena Andrews.
He honorably served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.
He married Lily Mae Snyder on Dec. 14, 1946.
Bob was employed by IBM as a computer engineer, retired in 1987, and shortly after moved to Honor, where he and his wife created their retirement home and surrounded themselves by many friends.
Bob was a strong, loving and kind man who loved his wife and family deeply. He had a love of nature and faced life with integrity, compassion, strong wit and a wonderful sense of humor. He also enjoyed tracking our family’s roots through genealogy.
Bob will lovingly be remembered by his family and friends as a man who gave the best bear hugs ever.
He was the loving husband to Lily; loving father to Linda (Terry) Novak, Glenn (Linda) Andrews, Leslie Andrews and Rob (Stephanie) Andrews; and grandfather to 12 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 15, at the Frankfort United Methodist Church, with Pastor Barb Fay officiating. Burial will be in Platte Twp. Cemetery.
Contributions may be directed to Munson Hospice or the church.
